How to get more Warframes

The easy way to get more Warframes is to buy them with Platinum from the market. However, you can get all of them for free just by playing the game and being patient, so save your Platinum for more important stuff like weapon and Warframe slots!

You get blueprints for Warframes as quest rewards, drops from missions/bosses. Some blueprints can also be bought for credits in the market or at the Tenno Lab in your clan. Most warframes require four blueprints: The main blueprint, Neuroptics blueprint, Chassis blueprint and Systems blueprint. You also need to farm the materials needed for building the blueprints in your Forge.

Blueprints for Prime Warframes drops from Void Relics; these relics are rewarded from endless missions but can also drop from some Spy missions. You can also buy bundles with Void Relics from a Syndicate for Syndicate standing. Notice: Not all Prime Warframes are currently available through Void Relics – some Warframes have been removed from the drop tables and is said to be in the Prime Vault. These rotate from time to time so look out for messages on which Warframes are unvaulted next time. If you need a Prime blueprint that is no longer available you can buy it from another player for Platinum – check Warframe.market for prices.

Join a clan

As a new player you should join an existing clan, where all weapons and Warframe blueprints have already been researched – this will allow you to easily get blueprints to these Warframes:

  • Banshee
  • Nezha
  • Volt
  • Wukong
  • Zephyr

If you are playing with a group of friends you can consider making your own clan; first you need to build a Clan key to gain access to the Clan DOJO. Next you need to build various rooms including a Tenno LAB (and the other LAB’s for more weapon blueprints) and research blueprints for the following Warframes. The clan members must contribute credits and materials to build new rooms and research blueprints. After the blueprints have been researched, all clan members can buy the blueprints.

Farm blueprints from boss kills

These Warframes are fairly easy to get for new players – just advance through the star map and keep killing those bosses over and over again until you have gathered all the required blueprints

Farm Void Relics for Prime Warframes

Prime Warframes are an upgraded version of the standard warframes with better stats and a more epic look. In order to build a Prime Warframe you must first farm the blueprints by 1) farming Void Relics and 2) unlocking these relics by running Void Fissure.

This may sound confusing for new players, but actually it is often easier to get the Prime version of a specific warframe than the standard version, because some of the standard Warframes require you defeat a hard boss – Void Relics can be opened running your favorite mission types and just require some luck – or some Platinum

For more information see this guide on how to unlock prime parts from void relics.

Quest rewards

As you progress through the star chart you will unlock several quests; to activate a quest simply go to your Codex station in your ship, find the quest and activate it.

Limbo and Gara are easy to get for new players; the other warframes will require you have unlocked more of the star map, acquired a higher Mastery Rank and done some prerequisite quests first.

Notice:

  • Some quests will reward all blueprints (main blueprint + all components)  or may even reward you with a complete prebuild Warframe.
  • Some quests will reward only the main blueprint and you then have to farm the component blueprints by killing certain enemies/bosses or doing bounties
  • Some quests will reward only the component blueprints – you can then simply buy the main blueprint in the market.
